About Tia Williams

Tia Williams is an American novelist whose publishing career began with The Accidental Diva in 2004. A University of Virginia graduate, she spent fifteen years as a beauty editor, working for magazines including Elle, Glamour and Essence. That experience with fashion, beauty and media often supplies the polished professional settings of her fiction.

Williams writes contemporary romance with sharp humor and an eye for emotional damage beneath glamorous surfaces. Her characters are often ambitious Black artists or media professionals confronting old wounds, difficult family histories and the prospect of beginning again. In Seven Days in June, writers Eva Mercy and Shane Hall meet again fifteen years after an intense teenage relationship, while their published books reveal a private conversation sustained across time.

Her novels also include The Perfect Find and A Love Song for Ricki Wilde, alongside young adult fiction. The Perfect Find became a 2023 Netflix film starring Gabrielle Union. Seven Days in June was a New York Times bestseller and a Reese’s Book Club selection, while screen rights were acquired for a television adaptation.

Begin with Seven Days in June. It brings Williams’s strengths together: quick dialogue, literary-world satire and a sensuous second-chance romance complicated by chronic pain, parenthood, addiction and childhood trauma. Readers who enjoy its blend of glamour and vulnerability can continue with The Perfect Find or A Love Song for Ricki Wilde.

In reality, Eva and Shane shared an intense, formative week as troubled adolescents—and have carried its emotional consequences into adulthood. Their reunion unfolds over seven summer days, while flashbacks reveal the pain, attraction, and desperate coping strategies that first drew them together. As Eva and Shane reconsider what happened between them, the novel asks whether enduring love is enough without honesty, accountability, and recovery. Tia Williams combines a second-chance romance with an exploration of chronic pain, addiction, self-harm, Black literary culture, motherhood, inherited trauma, and the ways writers transform private experi…
